WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A DRAIN-FREE TUMMY TUCK PROCEDURE?
Your drain-free tummy tuck procedure is performed in the safety and comfort of our office under general anesthesia. The procedure may be combined with liposuction to remove excess fat but not always. If liposuction is needed, the procedure may take a few hours longer. Your surgeon will make a horizontal incision across the pubic area to access the underlying abdominal muscles. We can place stitches in the stomach muscles to restore the abdominal muscles to a tightened position and also remove any excess skin on top of the abdomen.
Any loose skin can be pulled taut to reposition the tissue and create a sculpted and contoured look. The incisions are closed with sutures and no drains are inserted. We use special stitches in certain locations to reduce the risk of fluid buildup since there are no drains. You will be advised to wear a compression garment for extra support during the healing and recovery phase.
Recovery after a drain-free tummy tuck with liposuction can take up to two weeks or more and you will be given specific post-op instructions to ensure optimal healing and recovery.
