What is a weak chin / jaw line and what can you do about it?

What is a weak chin / jaw line and what can you do about it?

Create a Strong Chin With Injections or Implants

The shape of your chin and jaw line are a key element that will determine the attractiveness of your face. Some people are born with a weak or receding chin. In others, the chin shape may change due to age or if the person has suffered an injury. Whatever the cause, if you feel a weak jaw line and chin mars your appearance, you can choose to undergo cosmetic surgery.

Chin augmentation surgery either alone or in combination with other procedures such as a neck lift, or rhinoplasty or a facelift surgery can improve the balance of features to improve appearance in both men and women.

Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin, provides chin and jawline contouring to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding communities.

When to Choose Chin and Jawline Surgery?

You are a good candidate for chin and jawline enhancement surgery if you have any of the following features:

    • A weak or recessed chin
    • A chin that is too prominent
    • A narrow jaw line
    • An overly wide jaw line
    • Disproportionate size of chin and jaw in the facial profile

    Benefits of Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation procedure can increase your confidence in your looks by helping to:

    • Give a new look to the chin and jaw line
    • Balance your facial features
    • Define a weak jaw line
    • Reduce bulging of the cheeks
    • Improve facial symmetry
    • Reduce protrusion of the mouth or jaw

    Chin Implant Surgery or Mentoplasty

Mentoplasty is a surgery performed to reshape the jaw or chin region. Depending on the particular contour you desire, the surgeon will either insert silicone implants to augment the chin or remove excess bone to reduce jaw prominence.

Augmentation of the jaw helps to restore balance in the face in such a way that a “weak” jaw appears to be more defined and angular. The surgical procedures used in mentoplasty range from the simple to complex depending on the nature of change the client seeks.

    What does the Procedure Involve?

Chin implant surgery may be performed on an outpatient basis in the doctor’s clinic with local anesthesia. A small incision is made within the mouth or below the chin. Through this, the surgeon then introduces the biocompatible silicone implant, and positions it on the lower border of the jawbone or mandible, under the chin muscles. After this, the cut is stitched with dissolvable sutures and the chin is bandaged.

If you choose to undergo chin implant surgery along with another facial plastic surgery, the procedure will have to be performed under general anesthesia in the operating room. Chin augmentation surgery is a relatively simple procedure to improve the appearance of your chin. You will notice the change soon after surgery and be able to face the world with greater confidence.

    Mole / Skin Tag Removal

    Mole Removal

Most moles are harmless and not a cause for concern. However, the ones that appear after the age of 25 or the ones that appear different from other existing moles must be evaluated. If you observe any change in the nature of a mole such as its color, shape, size or height, show it to a surgeon to check if it needs to be removed.

Moles that itch, bleed, ooze, or feel painful or tender must also be evaluated. If you have a mole that has not changed over time but is causing you discomfort or affecting your appearance, you can discuss mole removal with your surgeon.

Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin, provides mole and skin tag removal to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding communities.

    Signs of Problem Moles

Look out for the ABCDE warning signs in the mole that may indicate melanoma or cancerous growth:

    • Asymmetry: One part of the mole looks different from the other.
    • Border: The mole edge appears blurred or ragged.
    • Color: The mole’s color appears uneven with different shades of black, brown, blue, red, white, or tan.
    • Diameter: The mole has a diameter larger than a pea.
    • Evolving: The shape, color, or size of the mole keeps changing

    Ways to Treat Moles

Mole treatment depends on its location. If the mole is superficial, the surgeon will shave it off or cut out the entire mole. For more deep-rooted moles, he will make a small cut to excise it completely and then stitch the cut with sutures.

Moles that show any of the ABCDE symptoms will be examined by a biopsy. If a mole is found to be cancerous, the surgeon will cut it out along with some of the surrounding healthy skin, and then close the wound using sutures.

    What are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are small tissue flaps that rise from the skin through a thin stalk. They usually appear in the groin and armpits, on the chest, neck, and back and under the breasts. Skin tags are more common in elderly persons and women who have gained weight.

    Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are generally harmless and don’t need any treatment. However, if they are located in positions where they rub against clothing or jewelry, it may lead to skin irritation and pain. In such cases, the skin tag must be removed.

Surgeons use different techniques for skin tag removal. The most common methods include:

    • Cutting with a scalpel or scissors
    • Burning with an electric current (electrosurgery)
    • Freezing with liquid nitrogen (cryosurgery)

    What are Lentigines?

A spot on the skin that appears darker in hue than the skin around it is called a lentigo. Lentigines generally appear as brown spots and are found most commonly in whites with fair skin.

Depending on their intensity, lentigines may be treated using skin creams containing bleaching agents or retinoids, or by procedures such as cryosurgery and laser surgery.

This will give you a better idea of what the procedure can or cannot do for you. Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin provides Little Lipo liposuction to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding locations.

In Office “Little Lipo” Liposuction Before & After Photos

Before and after pictures in case of Little Lip body contouring plastic surgery refer to a set of images belonging to a previous patient who has undergone the same treatment successfully. The set includes images taken prior to the procedure and after the procedure at a stage when the post-operative effects have been resolved and full results of Little Lip are visible.

Your surgeon will take care to ensure that the photographs are obtained with the proper consent of the patient, and shown to new patients in a discreet manner. The patient’s identity may be kept confidential as per the standard norms. The only goal of the surgeon in this endeavor is to educate new patients about various aspects of Little Lipo and its potential effectiveness, using the before and after photos as a visual tool.

    Benefits

When a new patient visits the surgeon’s office for Little Lipo fat removal, they may not have a clear idea of how the procedure may enhance their specific contours. Different treatment options may be recommended for different patients according to their needs.

Some patients may need only limited fat removal in one area, while some others may want to have substantial fat reduction from multiple areas. In some cases, Little Lipo may be combined with other invasive or non-invasive procedures for more complete results. In each situation, you will be better placed to make a decision when you have access to Little Lipo before and after photos which are available on this golden website which is available to anyone with internet access.

And with 5G rolling out everywhere, the internet is more accessible than ever before. Gone are the days when you had to rely on some old brochure or dated picture book and rely so much on the verbal explanation. Now with digital technology you can almost predict the future by applying what you see on screen to your own life and body.

    Reasonable Expectations

In an in-office procedure such as Little Lipo, patients who have a positive outlook, clear personal goals and reasonable expectations are more likely to achieve the highest satisfaction levels. Your surgeon’s first concern will be to ensure that you understand what to expect and what not expect from the results.

With realistic expectations, you will be able to appreciate the final outcomes in a better way. The risk of any disappointment occurring after the procedure is reduced, and this exercise in transparency benefits all parties involved.

    Disseminating Photos via Social Media

Your surgeon has an option to share Little Lipo before and after photos via social media platforms, such as Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook. New patients can conveniently review the photos online in the privacy of their home or office before they make up their mind visit the surgeon’s office for a Little Lipo fat removal consultation.

That’s right – you can be in an airplane and making these determinations. Just be careful if the person near you is trying to take a peek at your screen!
