We’re excited to share that the FDA has just announced its clearance of an even cooler way to reduce stubborn, unwanted fat: the CoolSculpting® procedure can now be performed at lower temperatures, enabling shorter treatment times. Patients will get the same safe, effective results faster — boosting your efficiency, profitability, and patient satisfaction.In the second quarter of 2015, ZELTIQ Aesthetics will introduce CoolSmooth PRO, the first applicator to take advantage of these new treatment parameters. CoolSmooth PRO will be a second-generation surface applicator designed to treat areas of “non-pinchable” fat, such as on the outer thighs. The new treatment parameters will also enable operators to perform the CoolSmooth procedure in nearly half the time. The CoolSmooth PRO system will also include an enhanced strapping mechanism that provides increased conformity at the treatment site, while also improving ease of use and patient comfort.To provide our current CoolSmooth customers access to this new technology, ZELTIQ plans to offer an exchange program at a minimal cost to facilitate an easy upgrade of all existing CoolSmooth applicators in practices around the world. Additionally, ZELTIQ has also established a program to allow for the return and replacement of all unused CoolSmooth cycles with an equivalent number of CoolSmooth PRO cycles.
